Ethereum and Ripple Surpass Litecoin in Value

Ethereum is a new cryptocurrency with a trade value of $8.10.  Ripple has been around for a while, and has a value of $o.oo7.  It might be worth less than litecoin (worth $3.47 at the moment), but has a higher market cap than litecoin.  Ethereum also has a higher market cap.  Litecoin is still recovering from its drop from about $30 dollars all the way down to $3, so hopefully Litecoin can gain some more value.

I'm Back!

Sorry about not posting for so long, but I got busy and I didn't have time to write anything.  I also unplugged my miner a few months ago and I haven't touched it since.  I just wanted to let everybody know that I plan to start posting again.

Announcement

                                 Upgrading My Rig

I might upgrade my mining rig!  I want to order 15 dualminer block erupters to give me an extra 2.25 Mhash/s.  I'll need a powered usb hub, a raspberry pi, some cables, internet connection, and an SD card.

I could also plug my gridseed as well to use less power than using my laptop.  This rig will cost about 400$, and will make 33$ dollars a year, but when the price of a Litecoin goes up, I'll maek a profit.

Litecoin will probably go up to around 30$, so I'll make a profit of 290$ for every year I mined before the price of Litecoin went up.

Happy Hashing!

Hashcoins Triton Miner Review

                        Hashcoins Triton Miner Review

Overview:

This is a new miner by Hashcoins that is now available for pre order.  It`s advertised hashrate is 36 Mhash/s.  It uses 144 W, pretty good.  It costs $703 CAD.  In 1 year you`ll make a $102 CAD profit.  This is also a PCIE based miner. It`s kind of like a GPU, but better.

Chance:

You have a 65% chance of making your money back at normal clock speed.
You have a 85% chance of making your money back at overclocked speed.
You have a 75% chance of making your money back overall.

Review:

Hashrate: 9/10
Power consumption: 8/10
Cost: 9/10
Overall: 8.5/10

Reason:

This miner is amazing overall.  The only flaw is the power consumption.  It just sets back your profit in normal clock speed mode.  Other than that, this miner is really good.  Happy hashing!

Raspberry Pi Mining Rig Review

                              Raspberry Pi Mining Rig Review

                                      What is Raspberry Pi?

Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized computer with a 700 mHz (MegaHertz) processor, USB slots, HDMI  slots and more.  It is used to mine, as well as other things.  Actually, only like, 2% of Pi users mine on their Pi's.  A Raspberry Pi can be used for many things.

How do You Mine With A Raspberry Pi?

Just the same as any computer.  Plug in the miner to the USB port, power it and run the software.  You need to load the mining software onto the Pi using an SD card.  You also need to power the Pi, using a mini USB to USB cable connected to a powered USB hub.

                                    Description of the Rig

Parts:

1.Raspberry Pi
2.Powered USB Hub
3.Block Erupters (the miners)
4.Pi case
5.USB to Mini USB Converter Cable
6.Power Cable
7.USB Fan
8.Ethernet Cable OR Wireless Internet Adapter

The Raspberry Pi, Internet connection, the Pi case, the SD card and the mini USB to USB power cable will create a computer.  The Block Erupters are the miners, and the rest runs the miners.

                                                              IMPORTANT!
Don`t leave the Block Erupters unattended for over 8 hrs If they`re cooled.  If they aren`t cooled, don`t leave them alone for 1 hour, because they heat up if they`re not cooled properly.  If they`re cooled you have nothing to worry about.  But, turn them off from time to time to give them a break.

                                            Review

With an average 10 Block Erupter rig, there would be 10 100 Khash/s Block Erupters.  10 x 100 = 1000.  The rig would easily do 1~1.2 Mhash/s.

Chance:

You have a 20% chance of making your money back at normal clock speed.
You have a 25% chance of making your money back at overclocked speed.
You have a 23% chance of making your money back overall.

Review:

Hashrate: 9/10
Power comsumption: 10/10
Cost: 8/10
Overall: 9/10

Reason:

A great mining rig for beginners, that can be expanded to suit more experienced miners.  It`s also WAY cheaper than a Gridseed 333 khash/s or Zeus 1.3~1.8 mhash/s, not to mention more efficient.
This is an amazing mining rig and I`d highly reccomend it if you want a cheap rig.

Dualminer Block Erupter Review

                         Dualminer Block Erupter Review

Overview:

The Dualminer Block Erupter can calculate at 70-120 khash/s.  One costs $30 CAD (23.46 USD).  It only uses 1~1.5 W and is usb powered.  I`t dos`nt get too hot, but it dos`nt have a fan either.  It was supposed to mine BTC and other sha-256 coins and LTC and other scrypt coins.  But it only mines LTC and other scrypt coins.

Chance:

You have a 1-5% chance of making your money back at normal clock speed.
You have a 5-10% chance of making your money back in overclocked speed.
You have a 4-6% chance of mking your money back overall.

Review:

Hashrate: 8/10
Power Consumption: 9/10
Cost: 6.5/10
Overall:7.5/10

Reason for Giving This Rating:

For what it is, this is a good miner.  But, I think the cost should be lower.  It costs a little too much for what it`s worth.  I think they should lower the price on this thing.  It doesn`t use that much power, so it`s not too expensive too run.  That`s why I rated the power consumption 9/10.

I hope you liked this review, happy hashing.
